Insurance Coverage

Can I use my insurance with Ognomy Sleep?

Yes. Ognomy Sleep accepts Medicaid (New York only*), Medicare, and most major insurance plans. Since coverage and benefits vary by plan, we’ll verify your individual benefits and share an estimated cost before your first appointment. Your final cost is determined by your insurance plan after your claim is processed and may differ from this estimate.

It’s important to provide complete and accurate insurance information when you sign up. Enter your insurance details exactly as they appear on your card and be sure to include any secondary insurance you may have. This helps us verify your coverage and provide the most accurate estimate possible. Ognomy Sleep visits are typically considered specialist visits, and applicable copays may vary depending on your plan. Coverage for home sleep testing also varies by insurance plan. Our team will process any required prior authorization, but we recommend confirming your specific coverage and out-of-pocket costs directly with your insurance carrier.

*Not all Medicaid plans in New York reimburse for home sleep testing. We will let you know in advance of your appointment if this is the case and if we need to refer you to an in-person clinician.

Will I know my exact out-of-pocket cost before I'm charged?

After we verify your insurance, you’ll receive a written cost estimate based on the benefits information available to us at that time. In most cases this estimate closely reflects what you'll owe. However, your final cost is determined by your insurance company after your claim is processed and may differ from the initial estimate.

If there ends up being a balance due after your claim is processed, we will bill you for the balance payment. If your insurance company determines your payment is less than the estimate, we will refund the difference.

Self-Pay Package

What does the self-pay package include?

Our self-pay package includes your new patient appointment, home sleep test, and first follow-up appointment for a total of $320.

Rather than charging the full amount at once, payments are spread out as you move through your care: $124 when you schedule your new patient appointment, $49 when your home sleep test ships, and three additional payments of $49 every two weeks.

If your clinician determines that a home sleep test isn’t needed, your payments stop after the initial $124. Any additional follow-up appointments beyond the one included in the package are $99 each.

What is not included in the self-pay package?

The self-pay package includes one follow-up appointment. Any additional follow-up appointments are $99 each.

Treatment costs are also not included. If your sleep clinician prescribes treatment, such as a CPAP machine, oral appliance, or medication, it will be provided and billed separately by a third-party equipment provider, pharmacy, or other treatment provider.

Many of these providers accept insurance, and we’ll help connect you with an in-network option whenever possible.

What if I don't have insurance?

We offer a comprehensive self-pay package if you don’t have insurance or your insurance is out-of-network. Due to federal regulations, we are unable to offer a self-pay option to patients with Medicare or Medicaid.

Billing Questions

Why did I get more than one bill?

Your telehealth visits, home sleep tests, and any prescribed treatment are separate services and may be billed separately. We verify your insurance benefits and provide an estimated cost for services provided by Ognomy Sleep.

If you receive more than one bill, be sure to check the provider listed on the bill to understand which company it came from and what service it is for.

What happens if my insurance information isn't complete or accurate?

Your cost estimate is based on the insurance information you provide, including any secondary coverage. If your information is missing, outdated, or incorrect, we may not be able to verify your full benefits or provide an accurate estimate before your appointment.

To help avoid unexpected costs, be sure to provide all current insurance information and enter it exactly as it appears on your insurance card when you sign up.

insurance
Why do you need my credit card on file?

We keep a valid payment method on file to make billing easier throughout your care. It may be used for costs associated with your visits, home sleep testing, or other patient responsibility determined by your insurance.

A payment method is also required for our cancellation and no-show policy. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance or missed appointments may result in a $60 fee for a new patient visit or a $30 fee for a follow-up visit.

If you have any questions or concerns about adding payment information, please contact us at support@ognomy.com
